All teachers must be prepared to use a variety of technology for planning, attendance monitoring, communicating classroom instruction and reporting, and be prepared to support the School Improvement Plan and District goals through Indigenous ways of knowing, being and doing.

Necessary Qualifications:
possession of a valid B.C. Teaching Certificate;
university training, or its equivalent, relevant to the posted position; and,
successful teaching experience relevant to the posted position.

Low Incidence Support - Autism
DISTRICT
1.0 F.T.E. Effective, September 3, 2019 The successful applicant will:
possess a Master?s Degree in Special Education;
demonstrate a high degree of knowledge and understanding in the social, emotional, and academic needs for students on the Autism Spectrum;
relevant experience working in Learning Services including co-creating Functional Behaviour Assessments and Positive Behaviour Supports; demonstrate experience working effectively with School-Based Teams;
have proven skills in programming for and supporting students in inclusive educational settings;
have experience working with community partners in programming for life skills and student transitions;
have experience in differentiating curriculum and assessment; and,
possess a valid BC Driver?s license.Reporting to the Director of Instruction, the candidate primary objectives would be to:
improve the outcomes for vulnerable children with a focus on those with an Autism designation;
collaborate with classroom teachers in the implementation of structures and strategies of Pathways to Learning;
work with community partners to promote health literacy in the Sea to Sky corridor;
support the creation and implementation of augmented augmentative and assistive communication (AAC);
demonstrate leadership and support student personalized learning with classroom teachers through Collaborative Learning Supports;
in partnership with the classroom teachers and education assistants, develop classroom support models for complex classrooms.
